We've been having a few problems, issues, lack of training, discipline errors, bad habits, unpleasant behavior, from our pooch. One of them being the complete destruction of the arm on our new sofa [4 DAYS AFTER HAVING IT]. Morgan never touched our old sofa, but something about this new one has him in a fuss. More on the sofa drama on a later post.
We decided that Morgan could not have access to our entire condo while we were away at work; we could no longer trust him. We now keep him in our kitchen with a gate and I come home on my lunch breaks to let him out or we keep him on the balcony which has been completely puppy proofed. Morgan prefers to be outside barking at the birds, trees and whatever else may catch his attention.
My parents [Morgan's grandparents] graciously purchased him a new mini-condo for the balcony from Amazon.com.

First Supper [on our new patio furniture]...
Another beautiful day in Southern California with temperatures around 78 degrees in Orange County :) I decided to make beef tacos and Spanish rice for dinner. When Mike got home he said he could smell dinner down the street. We set up our new patio furniture [which we purchased from Target with gift cards] and we ate on our balcony...
Because our balcony limits us on space, we knew our patio furniture had to collapse so we could create a hanging system for it. My dad and Michael hung racks for the chairs and table a few weeks ago... they hang perfectly on the side wall of our balcony and are out of our way when we aren't using them. We attempt to keep our place as functional as possible because it isn't huge.

Today in Dana Point...
The weather was absolutely beautiful today at 75 degrees. There was no way we were staying inside and apparently it's going to get warmer this coming week.
We packed a lunch, packed the new camera and our pooch and went to Dana Point Harbor. Little did we know it was the Festival of Whales at the Ocean Institute. There were awesome vendors, live bands and tons of people... we love people watching, so we were excited. Enjoy the photos from our day...

Is that a Scottie?...
Morgan finally has all of his shots and we are able to take him on walks. We've become quite popular around the neighborhood. People stop us everyday and ask to pet him and if he is a Scottie. Our neighbors also call him a "Christmas" puppy. Apparently the red - plaid "Scottie" print is popular during the holiday season.
We like to think he's the coolest dog in town. One of the funniest things about our beloved pup is that he refuses to potty outside. Some people think that's strange, I just say he has class :)
Another funny thing about walking him at night is he is really hard to see! He is so black! He is also hard to photograph because you can hardly see his eyes.

25 and Loving It...
Recommendation... don't watch shark week before you go snorkeling! It was fun, but I must say I had JAWS on my mind :)

Plumbing on Independence Day...

Happy 4th of July. We spent most of our day working on the condo. My parents picked up our new master bath vanity at Lowes... it's amazing. We have so much more counter top space now for the blow dryer, curling iron, makeup, yadda yadda.
While Michael and my dad worked on the new vanity, my mom and I made a trip to the grocery store for a little barbeque by the pool. While on our way to the store, we noticed a sea of towels and chairs on Lake Rancho Santa Margarita... we quickly realized that the 4th of July holiday drew quite a crowd to the lake and we would have an interesting night with parking and seating.
When we got back from the store we went down to the pool and grilled hot dogs, hamburgers and corn! MMMM! Then we swam for a bit. After the pool and barbeque, back to work we went! The vanity will be completely finished tomorrow.
We went down to the lake around 8:45 ish and made a small hike to see the fireworks show. The fireworks were great and we will definitely be up early to grab our spot for 4th of July 2010.
