"Yardwork" Condo Style...

I purchased these fabulous pots about 2 months ago at HomeGoods.  The large green one for $19.99 and the small orange one for $14.99.  Since I'm known for killing any plant that comes my way, I was hestitant to plant anything.  Today, I got the itch and plant we did.  Good thing for us, Lowes offers a 1-year warranty on their plants...  I'm so grateful!

First we had to drill holes in the bottom of each pot for drainage...
Then Miracle Grow Potting Soil [believe me, it's going to take a miracle for these babies to stay alive], rock for drainage and time to plant...
And last but not least, final approval from the boss...
I thought I should include a photo of the beautiful tree that's blooming just outside of our front porch...  I have a great view from our kitchen window too...

Out with the new... In with the old?

Well friends, the obsession with Mid Century Modern has been passed along to my mom.  After reading our blog, my mom was on the hunt for Mid Century Modern pieces for our place.  She found an amazing chair for $50, but waited for my approval and it sold the next day!  Although we missed out on the chair, she found a fabulous end table for our living room...  did I mention it was $25!!!  I couldn't be happier with her find and it fits perfectly next to our sofa.  It is retro 1950's and looks fantastic!
And speaking of sofa...  I was going to devote an entire blog post to the new sofa but I've opted not to.  To make a long story short, we purchased the new Karlstad sectional sofa from IKEA a few months ago in chocolate brown because the color was more "Black, Scottish Terrier" friendly.

Four days after purchasing the sofa, Morgan chewed the arm off.  It was terrible and the tears were flowing.  He never touched our old sofa, so I'm assuming the new smell to this one attracted him to it.  Anyway, it's been fixed and we've moved on.  Morgan seems to have no hard feelings either.  :)

Mid Century Modern...

I have a new obsession with mid century modern furniture.  I've stumbled upon many fabulous mid century pieces on Craigslist and have become a crazy bargain hunter for these particular designs.  Apparently I'm not the only one because most of the furniture is quite expensive, so I'm hoping to find someone who is selling a great piece and is unaware of its value...  wish me luck!

Below are a few of my favorite Craigslist mid century pieces...  yes, I've been eyeing these for several days now:
These pieces are gems!  Can't you see why I'm obsessed?  Mid Century Modern is so simple and chic.  I adore!

Wedding Crashers [Fayetteville, Arkansas]

Mike's best friend Aaron married his beautiful bride Sabrina this past weekend in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Mike, his mom Bonnie and I made the trip to Arkansas early Friday morning.

When we arrived, Mike had to go to the rehearsal dinner immediately while Bonnie and I took long naps!  Thank goodness too, because we didn't get a wink of sleep the night before.

Fayetteville is absolutely beautiful.  We saw incredible farms, lush green hills and ZERO traffic.  It was so different from Southern California.

We took this photo late Friday night after the rehearsal dinner.  We HAD to find our way to Wal-Mart...  Fayetteville is the home to the first Wal-Mart so we couldn't miss the opportunity:
Saturday was the wedding at the most beautiful Chapel I've ever seen.  I will never forget the gorgeous architecture and incredible views through the glass:
The Bride & Groom:
My BEST man:
This awesome man was the tour guide for a senior group staying at our hotel.  I couldn't resist
and had to take a photo with him.  Check out the shoes!
The trip was fun.  We were a little exhausted today so we slept 'till noon!  The next wedding crash will be next month in Austin, TX for my best friend Andrea!  Can't wait for another adventure.  I'm super excited for Mike to see Austin.  I've been several times and absolutely love the city!
